Privacy policy

What you share with us about your relationship is personal. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and the choices you have. We keep it as short and clear as we can.

1. Who we are

Intimacy Metrics offers a relationship health survey, a free summary report, and paid tools such as the 12-Week Growth Journey. We are the "data controller" for the personal data you give us, which means we decide how it is used and we are responsible for protecting it.

2. What we collect

We only ask for what we need:

• Account details: your email address and password (stored encrypted), or a magic-link sign-in.
• Your answers: survey responses, daily check-ins and anything you share with the coach. Where we can, we anonymise this.
• Payments: handled by Stripe, Flutterwave or Paystack. We never see or store your full card details.
• Technical data: things like your IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure and working well.

3. How we use it

• To create your reports, scores and dashboard.
• To personalise your tips, goals and daily nudges.
• To take payments safely.
• To improve our survey and features.
• To meet our legal obligations.

4. Our legal reasons

We rely on your consent when you choose to share your answers, on our contract with you to deliver what you have signed up for, on legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it. These are the grounds recognised under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 and the UK GDPR.

5. Who we share it with

We never sell, rent or trade your data. We only share it with the companies that help us run the service, payment providers, hosting and storage, and analytics and security tools, and each of them is bound by a data protection agreement. Your partner only sees results you have chosen to share through Partner Bridge.

6. How long we keep it

• Account data: until you delete your account or ask us to.
• Survey answers: anonymised data may be kept to improve the service, but it cannot be linked back to you.
• Payment records: only as long as the law requires.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Just email info@intimacymetrics.com and we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In Nigeria that is the Nigeria Data Protection Commission; in the UK it is the ICO.

8. Keeping it safe

Your data is encrypted while it travels and while it is stored. Access is limited to the people who genuinely need it, and sensitive answers are anonymised or pseudonymised wherever possible.

9. International transfers

If your data is processed outside Nigeria, the UK or the EU, we use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and make the site work. We will only use analytics cookies if you agree to them.

11. Age limit

Intimacy Metrics is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think a child has signed up, please let us know and we will remove their data.

12. Changes

If we make important changes to this policy, we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
